Every card entrusted to George Gregorio Grading is evaluated through our proprietary inspection methodology known as The ocvlvs System. Developed to maximize precision, consistency, and repeatability, The ocvlvs System combines controlled illumination, precision optics, and proprietary measurement technology to reveal the smallest characteristics of a card while ensuring every professional judgment is earned through documented evidence. Rather than relying on a single viewing angle, every card is examined as a complete object—its surface, perimeter and centering working together to tell the story of its condition.

ocvlvs: pupil transforms digital magnification into a structured, repeatable inspection environment. It equips our graders with precision measurement tools to evaluate centering, surface condition, edges, and corners with consistency while documenting every observation.
Rather than relying on estimation alone, ocvlvs: pupil allows grading decisions to be supported by measurable data. Features such as coordinate-based flaw mapping, dimensional measurement, digital overlays, annotation tools, and detailed observation records provide a transparent framework for documenting a card's condition.

Grading Scale

Preservation Integrity is expressed as a percentage, representing the extent to which a card's original visual and structural integrity has been preserved. Rather than measuring damage alone, it communicates how faithfully the card retains the characteristics it possessed when it left the manufacturer.
Letter-Driven Grading
Our grading scale reflects the same philosophy as The Oculus System: clarity over complexity. Rather than relying solely on numbers, we employ a refined letter-driven scale ranging from S⟡ Flawless through D Flawed. Each designation represents a clearly defined standard while emphasizing preservation, presentation, and consistency.
