Verified Ownership & Provenance
Every Collection Has a history
At George Gregorio Grading, every slab becomes part of The Archive — a permanent provenance record that documents a card's identity, grading history, and custodial journey over time.
This archival foundation preserves the historical continuity of each piece while supporting provenance verification, ownership transparency, and long-term integrity of the collection

The Archive’s Provenance Record
Each card’s Archive entry includes:
-
Verified Ownership Status
-
Chain of Custody
-
Grading & encapsulation data
-
Accession Date
Together, these records establish a continuous provenance history that preserves the custodial identity and long-term integrity of each accession piece.

why Provenance matters
1. Preserves custodial history
A documented chain of custody preserves the historical continuity of a piece as it moves through collections over time.
2. strengthens provenance transparency
Public provenance records create greater clarity and trust surrounding the history, presentation, and stewardship of accessioned items.
3. Supports long-term integrity
Cards with documented provenance carry stronger historical context and archival continuity for future collectors and custodians.
Verified Ownership Transfer Service
For when an accessioned piece begins a new custodial chapter.

When a slab changes hands, the new owner can register themselves as the verified current owner in The Archive.
This protects both the collector and the legitimacy of the card’s historical record.
How it works:
-
Purchase the service
-
Identity verification + Image of Slab
-
Provide proof of purchase (receipt, invoice, trade documentation)
-
Provide public display records
-
Approval & record update
-
The Archive reflects the new Chain of Custody and Transfer Date
No-Refund Policy
Ownership Transfer is a non-refundable service, because:
-
identity verification and fraud checks cannot be undone
-
provenance updates become part of the card’s permanent record
-
this prevents tampering, falsifying ownership, or reversing legitimate transfers
